Nashville Magician Jason Michaels traveled to Las Vegas recently with the sole purpose of trying to fool Penn & Teller on their television show Penn & Teller Fool Us. On Friday night, October 28th, on the CW network, we get to see if he succeeded.

A Nashville native, Michaels has been performing magic for thirty years. His early interest in magic started because he wanted to fool his high school buddies at the poker table. He soon walked into a magic shop and the rest was, as they say, history.

“When I saw a real magician perform for me up-close and personal, I was hooked. I wanted to create that feeling of amazement that I felt for everyone I knew,” says Michaels.

With early shows for his church and sister’s birthday party, Jason soon gravitated toward sleight-of-hand magic. A favorite early memory was when he performed a card trick that was so amazing one of his brother’s friends ran out of his parent’s house screaming!

A response that big is what he is trying to achieve when he appears on Penn & Teller Fool Us. The goal of the television show is to try and “fool” the legendary Las Vegas magicians Penn & Teller. Did Michaels fool them?

He won’t say.

“If you like what you see me do on the TV show, then you should come see one of my shows in downtown Nashville,” says Michaels. “I’ll do my best to fool you.”

Penn & Teller Fool Us airs Friday nights on the CW network. Jason’s episode, titled Four Fools and Counting..., airs on Friday, October 28 at 7pm central time.

Jason’s show Mysteries and Illusions plays Saturday nights at The Filming Station in Downtown Nashville. For tickets and more details: www.mysteriesandillusions.com
